Chart a True Course 12"x12" - SOLD

$600.00

12”x12” acrylic/mixed media on birch plywood, framed with a white matte in a 20”x20” black frame

2023

This series was inspired by the ten year period we spent living on our boat in Sausalito. This series expresses the still surface of the water and the slow aging of sun-weathered, chipped paint on old boats and docks. They also reflect the the wind, fog and sea and the uncertainty of life on the water. This series is created with layers of acrylic paint, collage, paint sticks, crayons and pencil that is scraped, grooved, pitted, sanded, removed and re-applied in a process that shows the history of its creation. In this way, these pieces mirror the chaos of nature, serendipity of life and the stillness of time passing.
