This painting was a struggle in the beginning and I thought I had completely ruined it so I put it away unfinished in the studio feeling dejected. Six months later, I took it out again and with new perspective realized it was complete and I LOVE IT! As most of my work, it has a watery feel with the hint of fishes like those off Catalina Island flitting about Avalon Bay. As my family always says when they ask me to teach them something so they can do it themselves……."Don’t just give me the fish, please teach me to fish so I can do it myself.” Since this painting taught me so much about patience and also feels like fish flitting about, I’ve decided to call it “Teach Me To Fish”.
